Exercise Check Canopy 9-10th Apr 2010

Recently cadets (and staff!) from 424 Squadron took part in the first Squadron Organised parachute course at the home of the Army Parachute Association, Netheravon!
The course consisted of a full days training on the Saturday culminating in our first static line jump! Then a refresher course on the Sunday morning followed by our second jump.
The course was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and even though everyone was nervous at some point everyone jumped! Well done Guys & Girls!
Thanks to Nick from the Royal Engineers for helping us out, and Rich and Steve our mega instructors (and Dave our refresher instructor!).

Welcome to the home of everything that is 424 Squadron Air Cadets.
424 is a thriving squadron but we are always looking to improve! Each year our cadets, volunteer staff and civilian committee members help engage in pursuits and rewarding opportunities such as championing good causes in local communities, pursuing sporting events at a national level and becoming international youth ambassadors.
Our cadets aged 13 to 19 are given the chance by our team of staff and volunteers to learn to fly, develop skills to lead expeditions, become target shooting marksmen, join a our Rifle display team and learn about aviation and aerospace. This is only a small list of the many activities and opportunities available all whilst making new friends.
